The Layout

This is my first real layout , so I hope this is how its done...OK, here goes..main table 10x17. 3 loops all at different hights, but the switches for all track on the same level. There will be a mountain on the left side to make the tracks over and under. The lower will be in mountain, the other on top. This will make them come out to a double deck bridge. A turntable, a 3 track yard, a reverse loop.Track hight 36-52".TMCC and conv. 045 and 54.Also looking at a helix to take trains to a round the room over head ride.
WOW...if the wife lets me...lol

The Land Grab

Like all railroads it has to have land. So here I go with big plans of the wide open mid-west for my layout. I go to the local land owner(WIFE),and start to do my sing and dance for the wide open range. I talked a good game. Had did my home work with pics and drawings. I DIP, I DUCK, I DODGE TO GET MY POINT ACROSS. Like the big wigs, She said let me sleep on it..Two days later,I had my office to call( left note on pillow). 'when can we start building'...the wait............the reply, Will it fit in the attic? [we don't have one]..This is not looking good. Wait a month/ ask again..... This time it went our way [I THINK?]. You can use the other side of basement. You just have to finnish the whole basment first.

WOW, the price of land these days...

THE NAME ? ? ? ?

The name of the layout.... What to name the layout? With the way things have been for the past year, the only way to get a big ticket item is on layway. The way I bought the first updated equipment was on layway. The idea of just telling it the way it is was to simple. My wife has no problem with large ticket items broke down to make funds always flow. So while at work looking in a wish book it came to be the LAYWAY RAILWAY.
